Old NM State Pen



The Old New Mexico State Pen was the site of the largest riot ever to occur in a US prison. The buildings are no longer in use, but you can gain access if you know the right people. I’ve visited the state pen three times now, and hope to go again in the near future. There are still a few signs of the riots, there are also old movie sets, a prop house for the local movie industry, a lot of decay, and so many surprises around every corner. It is a visual feast that keeps reeling me back in.
