I’ve used “iconolatrie” as the name of my business for a loooooong time. Like two husbands ago, in Dallas, approximately a dozen lives ago. And I love it – but it’s got some baggage with it – so I’ve decided to start fresh.

I’m reinventing myself as “RaineWorks”. It came to me last night while I should have been sleeping. The above is a condensed peek at my thought process in regards to the logo – with the bottom one being the winner. I’m allowing myself to change the colors based on my mood – but will always keep the “raine” and the “k” a darker color than the rest of it – an homage to another alter ego I used to have during my freight-forwarding days – I was known as rainek. (Once upon a time I had a whole different life and I made a career in the exciting (seriously – I loved it) world of freight forwarding operations). I updated my blog header tonight. Working on biz cards, and getting myself a new email address. I feel better already!

I’ve been quiet lately, busy as always – and also I gave notice at my job – my last day is Friday – about to head off to a job fair. Five years at this job – it’s hard to leave – feels like a death in the family – my job is a large part of my identity. But due to recent changes there staying would be harder. Anyone out there need a designer?
