I love a good rummage sale!

rummage sale

So it’s supposed to be over 100 degrees today with the heat index. I had committed us to being inside all day – but we headed out to the dollar store a few blocks away to pickup some stuff for the booth we will be having at Pride this weekend. We found the things we needed and headed home – until we saw a fabulous sign directing us to a Rummage Sale a a local synagogue. Now I love a good church (or synagogue) rummage sale – they are always full of weird things and always cheap. We headed in and found that we could fill a paper grocery sack for $5! Hold on to your hats! The kids and I became drunk on the power of the “fill the  bag” concept. A wide variety of things were thrown in – clothes, shoes, puzzles, bags, toys, pompoms. It got ridiculous quickly.  We managed to get out of there with only two bags – whew! We dumped everything out on the porch to see just what we’d thrown in there. And we saw that it was good. The children are now quietly working on a new puzzle – and I’m getting some computer work done.
