No Vintage Photo Friday today

Instead a photo from the aftermath of 9/11 – this flag was unfurled on the Pentagon during rescue operations. 9/11 literally changed my life – it was this day, this event that crystallized the relationship I was in – on that day I realized I needed to be married to the amazing man I was with – to publicly declare that I was with him and he was with me.  And he had that same moment of clarity – we had been together off and on for 9 years  – we were up and we were down – and we never were at the same place at the same time – and suddenly we were.  We clung to each other  – as many people did – and realized all the little roadblocks we had thrown in each other’s way were BS. The small stuff didn’t matter anymore – LOVE matters.

Arlington. Va. (Sept. 13, 2001) -- Military servicemembers render honors as fire and rescue workers unfurl a huge American flag over the side of the Pentagon during rescue and recovery efforts following the 11 Sept. terrorist attack. The attack came at approximately 9:40 a.m. as a hijacked commercial airliner, originating from Washington D.C.'s Dulles airport, was flown into the southern side of the building facing Route 27. U.S. Navy photo by Michael W. Pendergrass. (RELEASED)

Love matters

Peace be with you

I hold your hand here on this day. I had no words for my blog – it is the lovely Sarah’s 10th birthday, and I have a very sick cat who must go to the vet. These are the things that matter, So I printed a list of all those who lost their lives that horrible day – each name a life behind it. The list goes on & on & on, even in a tiny font size. Very sobering. Peace be with you too, with us all.
