Another “on the way to daycare” shot – we have to leave so early in the morning just so Mama can get her shooting in. The fence is surrounding a Buddhist monastery – it’s amazing how much there is between my little old house and the 10 blocks or so to daycare!

Christ is coming
LOOK!
So – I’ve been reading Poemcrazy – can you tell? I’ve been obsessively taking pictures of words for over a week now. The pics above are from my first day of it – and were taken in the order you see. Love this poem!

My little man, who is about to be 5 years old at the end of this month. It amazes me that I’ve been a mother for almost 6 years (including pregnant.) Sometime I barely recognize my pre-motherhood self – all the crazy decisions, drama, and restlessness. I’m still me ,of course, just a more grounded, responsible version – and I’ve become someone who loves fiercely – I used to guard my heart and withhold myself. And this boy broke all those barriers the moment I saw him.
Whew, I’m caught up! This was taken while in the car this evening. The first two weeks of 2009 have been a roller coaster ride. Two deaths, a rebirth, the end of a few friendships, new job for Chris, lots of work on the Cow for me, trying to balance my Cow commitments, NMAMA commitments, and job, while finding time to be present for my family. We’ve taken the last two Sunday to just be together as a family – the outing I mentioned a few posts ago last Sunday and we went to the Albuquerque Museum and Old Town the Sunday before.
I now work six days a week – five at my job job and one at my Cow job. So even though I’m tired I want to make it a point to do something cool with the kids – and they’ve really loved our “surprises” so far.

We are all adjusting to a new family schedule as Chris just started a new job that requires him to be there at 4am. So now I get the kids up, dressed, fed, and out the door by 7am, drop them off, and then hop a bus to be downtown at work by 8am. So far things are working out nicely – although Katie gets sad every morning when she realizes Daddy is not there – Chris has always been the one to get them up and going in the morning until now.
We’ve been enjoying the moon on our morning walks – Will & Katie both love the moon – they actually will argue over it “My luna” “No, MY luna” “No, the estrellas luna!” It’s totally cute.
And I’ve been using my new “baby camera”, a Panasonic Lumix, to take pics while on our walks and while I’m at work. It’s so nice to not have to lug the Rebel with me- I can shove the Lumix in my coat pocket and go!
This Sunday we went to the Petroglyphs the volcanoes, and to the Open Space Visitors Center where we met three wolves from the Wanagi Wolf Fund – a local wolf rescue. It was a fabulous day! There are more pics of the wolves on my Flickr. One of the great things about living in Albuquerque is that you can actually be outside all year long – this winter has been particularly mild and we are taking advantage of that as much as possible.
The kiddos were troupers throughout the day and had a great time – here’s a few pics from the Petroglyphs. I had never been here before – we don’t venture to the Westside often and thought thet were cool – except for how close the housing developments are to them – wish I could have seen them 20 years ago.
